Outcess Solutions Nigeria Limited

Outcess Solutions Nigeria Limited is an integrated customer engagement and business process outsourcing company with over 17 years of experience. They deliver innovative digital solutions that empower and optimize the performance of people, teams and organizations. Through their project ‘Do More 3000’, the company aims to tackle the prevailing youth unemployment in Nigeria, while breaching the gap in supply and demand of outsourcing.

The Problem

With an estimated number of 4.8 million individuals entering the labour market each year, the need to match these young people to jobs is enormous. Over 30% of Nigerian youth are currently unemployed. This rising rate of unemployment aa well as the high level of informal employment drastically affects the youth more than any other group. Out of them, young women find it even harder to find employment than young men.

According to the Genesis Global Business, Nigeria has a missed opportunity for outsourcing.  With a lot of companies all over the world outsourcing various department like human resources, customer service, software teams for high productivity and better return of investment, Nigeria could provide decent employment opportunities for youth to fill this gap.  Many young people show interest in digital jobs but lack sufficient training and skills.

The Solution

To tackle the prevailing youth unemployment in Nigeria and the untapped opportunity of outsourcing in the Nigerian market, Outcess Solutions Nigeria Limited has created a ‘Do More 3000’ project. Targeting businesses seeking cost-effective, scalable, and technology-driven outsourcing solutions, ‘Do More 3000’ offers contact centre outsourcing, software application development, and customer engagement solutions.

The project aims to create, match and improve 3000 tech-enabled jobs, of which 70% are for women, within the next two years while concurrently enhancing employee skills to align with the digital job landscape. Throughout its operational history, the company has prioritized talent development over experience, focusing on creating entry-level jobs and investing in targeted training. This approach aims to equip young individuals for specific roles, facilitating seamless transitions to higher positions or other companies, thus ensuring a versatile and skilled workforce.

To combat gender disparities, the project enforces non-discriminatory hiring practices and prioritizes merit-based selections, promotions, and equal opportunities. Additionally, ‘Do More 3000’ will implement a safe, inclusive work environment and will strictly prohibit gender-based violence or harassment. The project will also offer flexible work options, including remote work and maternity leave for nursing mothers, providing a conducive environment for female talent to thrive without sacrificing family responsibilities.

Finally, the project addresses low earnings by offering a salary of 50,000+, above the Nigerian minimum wage, and facilitates internal job placements, allowing employees to progress higher-paying roles based on gained experience.

Additionality

With CFYE grant and technical assistance ‘Do more 3000’ will have the resources to design and implement the project more effectively. Additionally, CFYE can provide mentorship and advice to ensure that the project is successful. Without CFYE support, the project will have fewer resources and would face more difficulty in reaching its objectives. It would take longer for the project to reach its goals, or the objectives may not be reached at all.
